How I found my purpose: 4 inspirational stories

If you don’t know what your purpose is, or you aren’t sure how to fulfil it – here’s some inspiration. Four purpose-driven people tell us their stories of how they found meaning in life.

There is no ‘one size fits all’ method for finding your purpose. Some people may know from day one what they were put on this earth to do, but, for many of us, figuring that out will be a process. You might even find one event can dramatically change your way of thinking. However you get there, your purpose will be the thing that drives you out of bed in the morning, eager and excited to follow it. We spoke to four inspiring individuals about what their purpose is, and how they discovered it.

Raymond Cloosterman

Our very own CEO Raymond Cloosterman defines purpose in his own way: what gets him up in the morning and where his drive comes from. In his journey to discovering these, both the loss of his father and his mother’s inspirational mindset have shaped how he sees the world. This is Raymond’s story.

Ani Naqvi

After surviving the 2004 Indian Ocean Tsunami and a stage four cancer diagnosis, our purpose expert Ani Naqvi had an epiphany moment, realising what she needed to do with her life. After transforming her health and her career, Ani is now a critically acclaimed life coach and mentor, helping others find their purpose. Watch Ani’s full story here.

Ernst Suur

From a young age, Ernst knew what he wanted to do with his life: to make a change in children’s lives. Now, as Director of the incredible NGO War Child, that hasn’t changed. From volunteering as an 18-year-old in Uganda, to running a charity that helps children all over the world deal with the psychological effects of war, this is Enrst’s story.

Laurien Meuter
