This meditation will boost your energy during the winter months

It’s not only the temperature that dips at this time of year. As the days get shorter, so too do our energy reserves, and motivation to do anything more than hunker down inside. Getting out of bed in the morning feels like a major achievement, the afternoon slump seems to begin at 11am, and it feels like only a miracle will get you to the gym this side of Christmas.

If that sounds familiar, this energy boosting meditation is for you. It works with attention and awareness combined with a gentle, controlled way of breathing to fire up your energy levels, your mood and your health. Try it once for a quick hit, or practice it a couple of times a week and you’ll train your breath, feel more focused, and rediscover your enthusiasm for life.

Even better, it only takes a few minutes and can be done from the comfort of your sofa. So grab a blanket, close your eyes and let yourself be guided to an energised state of mind.
